Rule:Introduce your father or mother’s professions in one sentence one by one.If you can’t
continue,please turn a round and say:I’m sorry,then please sit down.

1 Teacher and a pupil ask and answer
Teacher:Hello,Carl!
Carl:Hi,Miss Chen!
Teacher:What’s your father?
Carl:My father is a driver.
Teacher:What’s your mother?
Carl:My mother is a worker.
2 Teacher:What did I ask?
Then teach the drills:What’s your father?
What’s your mother?
Step 5 Look and Say
1 (Put picture 1 in the projecting apparatus)
Let the pupils think about the pictures,ask and answer in groups.
2 Pupils make conversations.
3 Listen to the tape of picture 1 and read after it.
4 (Put picture 2 in the projecting apparatus) Teacher points to the picture and asks:What’s
your father/mother? And pupils answer.
5 Listen to the tape of picture 2 and read after it.
Step 6 Practice
Let the pupils play a game-Passing the Ball to practise the drills.
Pupils sing the song-My Father and My Mother, and pass the ball, when the song stops,
pupils ask together:What’s your father? or What’s your mother?Then the one who gets
the ball should answer according to the pictures the teacher puts in the projecting apparatus.

Step 7 Acting
1 Ask the pupils to choose their parters to form families and make up dialogues using
the drills they have learned in this class.
2 Pupils act out dialogues.
Step 8 Game
1 Play a game- a Press Conference.
Rule:A pupil comes to the platform,puts his or her family photo in the projecting apparatus.
Other pupils ask questions about his or her family.
Then he or she should answer the facts.
2 The pupil who comes to the platform interview the pupils about his or her family.
