Step 1 Revision
Revise the letters and words in unit 5a .Teacher shows the flash cards to help the pupils read like this : rope ---r-o-p-e---rope
Step 2 Presentation
1 Teacher makes a self-introduction:
I’m Miss Chen.
I’m a teacher.
I’m from Shangrao.I’m Chinese.
I’m tall (比手势).I’m thin (比手势).
2 Let the pupils translate
3 Ask the pupils to introduce themselves in three sentences.
Eg : I’m…(name)
I’m…(age)
I’m a girl/boy.
4 Teacher repeats one pupil’s introductions.Like this: You’re…(name).
You’re…(age).You’re a girl/boy.
5 Read the drills“I’m…”“You’re…”and let the pupils guess the meaning.
Step 3 Practice
Ask one pupil to make an introduction and others repeat.

Step 4 Presentation
1 Teacher shows the mask of a cow and says:
Boys and girls, look,I have a mask.
2 Let the pupils guess the meaning of “mask”
3 Teach the new word “mask”
4 Ask the pupils to read the word “mask” one by one and teacher corrects it .
5 Read the sentence : I have a mask.
6 Let the pupils imitate the cry of a cow and teach the new word “moo”
7 Teacher puts on the mask and says :Now I’m a cow.
8 Pupils guess the meaning of the sentence and learn the new word “now”

1 Listen to the tape of part one
2 Explain the meaning of part one
3 Read after the tape-recorder
Step 6 Practice
1 Teacher practices the dialogue with the pupils.
2 Pupils practise the dialogue in pairs.
3 Ask some pairs to act it out .
Step 7 Presentation
1 Teacher shows the mask of a duck and says :Boys and girls, look,I have a mask.
